PhD

We are currently hiring PhD students to start in June 2027 in a fully funded position. If you are interested in doing a PhD in our ACI lab outside of this position, you should apply to the University of Glasgow’s PhD scholarship program. The deadline to apply for the scholarships is in January every year. There are several scholarships available that can involve teaching, international students, and different levels of funding. The scholarships require a research proposal (more info here). Please get in touch if you wish to apply, so that I can support your application to give you the best chance of success. 

Masters and Undergraduate Students

Dr. Hirskyj-Douglas supervises current undergraduate and masters students at the School of Computing at the University of Glasgow. Please note, these are not open to students outside of the university. If you wish to do your thesis on this topic, please get in touch with her, and bid through the university system. Her undergraduate students have won a best thesis award and students have worked with Blair Drummond Safari Park and Korkeasaari Zoo developing technology for the animals there.

Internships
